Tungipara, Bangabandhu Mausoleum Complex

Sadar Bari



This is the entrance to a mansion built by the Hindu zamindar of Sonargaon in 1901. Like most zamindar houses of this time, this was built by Indian masons but modeled on European palaces. This resulted in a curious blend of styles as seen in this brick entrance hall with baroque decoration and elaborate painting on plaster. On the upper level, European pillars flank Mughal arches.


Badhya Bhumi Smriti Soudha


Badhya Bhumi Smriti Soudha (Slaughter-place Memorial) was built to commemorate the death of some of the nation's finest intellectuals and others, who were killed at the very end of the war of liberation (1971) by the Pakistani army with the help of their collaborators at Rayer Bazar brick field of Dhaka. The memorial edifice was constructed at the place where the mass killing took place. Among the people killed indiscriminately were educationists, physicians, journalists, writers, film directors and other professionals.
In 1993 Government of Bangladesh decided to erect a memorial at the site of this barbarous act.


Sitakot Vihara




Sitakot Vihara a Buddhist monastery. It is located in Nawabganj upazila under Dinajpur district. The Vihara was built roughly on a square plan (65.23m east - west and 64).


Kantajee's Temple



Kantajee
s Temple is in Dinajpur district. It is the most ornate among the late medieval temples of Bangladesh is the Kantajees temple near Dinajpur town, which was established in the year 1722 by Ram Nath, son of Maharaja Pran Nath .The temple, a 51' square three storied edifice, rests on a slightly curved raised plinth of sandstone blocks, believed to have been quarried from the ruins of the ancient city of Bangarh near Gangharampur in West Bengal. It was originally a navaratna temple, crowned with four richly ornamental corner towers on two stores and a central one over the third stored.
